London Wetland Centre is set to dazzle families this summer with an array of exciting activities, headlined by the innovative Postcard Adventure Trail. This captivating new experience promises to deepen connections with nature and provide an unforgettable adventure for visitors of all ages.

Discover Wildlife with the Postcard Adventure Trail

Families visiting London Wetland Centre can embark on a unique journey through the wetland centre with the new Postcard Adventure Trail. Featuring giant postcards illustrated by children’s artist Ella Beech, the trail presents personal messages from nine different animals living in wetlands worldwide. Armed with a trail map, explorers will discover these postcards scattered throughout the centre, learning about diverse wetland habitats and their inhabitants.

Exciting Wildlife Encounters

As part of the trail, visitors will encounter a variety of fascinating species that call WWT London home. From lapwings and common terns to reed warblers and dragonflies, the centre is teeming with wildlife. Additionally, special activities like the Junior Bat Walk offer a closer look at Britain’s rarest bats, including the Leisler’s bat and Nathusius’ pipistrelle, providing thrilling evening adventures for families.

Engaging Activities for All Ages

Beyond the Postcard Adventure Trail, London Wetland Centre offers a host of other engaging activities throughout the summer. Interactive storytelling sessions with Olivia Armstrong bring to life the stories of wetland plants and animals every Monday. Free creative workshops every Wednesday invite families to craft their own ink quill pens and write poetry. Daily pond dipping and otter talks, along with the Mud Kitchen and Wild Walk, ensure there’s never a dull moment.

Family Fun at the Adventure Playground

Children can unleash their energy at the adventure playground, complete with water features, balance beams, and rope bridges. Whether bouncing, sliding, splashing, or swinging, the playground provides endless fun, making it a perfect addition to the summer adventure at WWT London.
