Keep the Little Ones Entertained This May Half Term
With the May Half Term fast approaching, Squire’s Garden Centres have the perfect solution to keep your children entertained and engaged. Their popular Create & Grow programme returns with a delightful ‘Plant a Tasty Vegetable Pot’ activity. Here are five things you need to know about this fun and educational event.

1. What is the ‘Plant a Tasty Vegetable Pot’ Activity?
This half term, children can dive into the world of gardening with Squire’s ‘Plant a Tasty Vegetable Pot’ activity. For just £6.50 per child, participants will have the opportunity to plant a vibrant pot containing three different vegetable plants. The activity includes all necessary materials, such as peat-free compost and labels for the children to personalise with their best handwriting.
2. When and Where Can You Join?
The ‘Plant a Tasty Vegetable Pot’ activity will be available from Tuesday 28th to Friday 31st May, running every 30 minutes from 9:30am to 1:30pm. Make sure to book your slot online to secure a spot. The event will be hosted at several Squire’s Garden Centres, including Badshot Lea, Crawley, Long Ditton, Milford, Shepperton, Stanmore, Twickenham, Washington, West Horsley, Woking, and Wokingham.
3. Why Choose This Activity?
As the weather warms up, it’s the perfect time to introduce children to the joys of gardening and healthy eating. The ‘Plant a Tasty Vegetable Pot’ activity is not only fun but also educational, teaching children how to grow their own vegetables like tomatoes, chillies, lettuce, and peppers. They’ll learn about the importance of sustainable gardening practices, such as using peat-free compost.
4. Take Home Your Creation
After planting their vegetable pots, children can take them home and watch as their plants grow and flourish. To help with this, Squire’s provides a leaflet on how to care for the vegetables. This hands-on experience is rewarding and can spark a lifelong interest in gardening and healthy living.
5. Extra Fun with a Free Wordsearch
In addition to the planting activity, Squire’s offers a Healthy Fruit and Veg Wordsearch. This fun and educational activity is free and requires no booking. Upon completion, children will receive a free sticker, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to their visit.
