Five things to do at London Wetland Centre this May half-term (From 25 May to 2 June)
Looking for fun ideas to keep all the family entertained this May half-term? From daily otter talks and pond dipping to forest school-inspired sessions and much more, London Wetland Centre has plenty happening on site.
- Explore Bing’s Nature Explorers activity trail (Daily until 2 June)
Follow London Wetland Centre’s interactive trail and learn all about wetland nature and wildlife with some help from the popular children’s television character Bing and his friends. Pick up a map from admissions and journey around the urban wetland, discovering fun-filled challenges and amazing wildlife facts along the way. There will also be interactive Bing storytelling sessions at London Wetland Centre every day throughout May half-term, featuring the books from HarperCollins.
- Meet Asian short-clawed otters (Daily at 11 am and 2 pm)
Join London Wetland Centre’s Asian short-clawed otters Tod and Honey for their daily feed; watch them play and cause mischief under the waterfall, and learn about their loves, lives and homemaking habits.
- Go pond dipping (Daily at 11 am and 2 pm)
Grab a net and join London Wetland Centre’s team to learn all about the incredible underwater world of ponds this May half-term, including how to tell a pond skater from a stickleback! This activity, suitable for all the family, will take place daily at London Wetland Centre’s Pond Zone.
- Get even closer to seasonal species (Fridays to Sundays, 10 am-2 pm)
Take a closer look at London Wetland Centre’s wildlife from the comfort of its Headley Hide observation hide and under the guidance of one of its experts, who will be on hand to help bird watchers identify and share facts about the wildlife they see.
- Throw yourself into forest school (Friday 31 May, 10.15 am-11.15 am)
Join London Wetland Centre’s forest school-inspired Friday Froglets, play in nature, learn new songs, share stories, and make nature crafts before finishing with quiet time around a fire. Friday Froglets promises a fun-filled hour for little and big kids alike.
All activities, excluding Friday Froglets, which costs £5 per child and must be pre-booked, are included in the London Wetland Centre’s admission price or free for WWT members.
