Twixmas Adventures at London Wetland Centre: Family Fun and Nature Exploration

During the Twixmas period, the London Wetland Centre offers a variety of engaging activities suitable for the whole family. Here are five things you can enjoy there between Christmas and New Year:
- Free Christmas Family Workshops: From December 21, 2023, to January 7, 2024, at 11 am and 2 pm (except for December 26, 2023, and January 1, 2024), visitors can participate in wintry art activities. These include crafting thank you cards from seeded paper and creating gifts for nature like pine cone feeders and bug hotels. This activity is included with admission or free for members.
- Explore the Winter Trail: With a Quentin Blake โDrawn to Waterโ illustrated guide, explore the reedbeds and enjoy early sunset views. This period offers unique natural sights and sounds at the Wetland Centre.
- Meet the Otters: Daily at 11 am and 2 pm, you can watch the Asian-clawed otters play and feed. These sessions offer insights into the otters’ behaviors, loves, lives, and homemaking habits.
- Enter the WWT National Art Competition: Open until December 31, 2023, this competition invites visitors to create and submit artwork capturing the wonder of the wetlands. The prize is a one-off framed print of โHeronโ by Quentin Blake.
- Photography and Bird Watching: The Centre, with its frosty landscapes and diverse bird species, is perfect for photography enthusiasts. Keep an eye out for the rare bittern and the three white storks that are visible from December 22.

The Centre is open every day from 9.30 am to 4 pm in December and until 4.30 pm in January, excluding Christmas Day. For more details, you can visit their official website at London Wetland Centre.
