5 Reasons to Book a Christmas Wreath-Making Workshop at ALFI Spitalfields

London | November – December 2026

Fancy making your own front-door showstopper this Christmas? ALFI, the independent Italian restaurant in the heart of Spitalfields Market, is hosting a series of hands-on Christmas wreath-making workshops this November and December. You will craft a generously sized wreath to take home, with a glass of prosecco in hand, and can round things off with Neapolitan pizza if you like. Here are five reasons to book.

1. Make a real wreath from scratch

This is a proper, hands-on workshop rather than a quick decorate-a-ready-made affair. You will be guided through building your own wreath on a real moss base, layering it with seasonal foliage. Then you choose from a generous assortment of natural decorations to bring it to life. Dried orange slices, pine cones, mini baubles, tiny bells and ribbons all add colour, texture and festive detail. By the end, you will have something genuinely personal to show off.

2. A generously sized wreath for your front door

Each wreath starts with a 30cm moss base. Once all the trimmings are in place, it expands to roughly 40–45cm across. That is a properly full, eye-catching size for a front door. It should look the part right through the Christmas season. It also makes a lovely handmade gift if you can bear to part with it.

3. Everything is included, with prosecco

Tickets cost £77.25 per person, and that covers all the materials you need. A glass of prosecco to sip while you work is included too. There is nothing to bring and nothing to buy in advance, so you can simply turn up and get creative. It is a relaxed, sociable way to get into the festive spirit. The founders describe it as a chance to slow down and enjoy something a little different.

4. Stay on for Neapolitan pizza

ALFI was shortlisted for this year’s National Pizza Awards and is known for its handcrafted Neapolitan pizzas. Its signature dough is cold fermented for 36 hours, giving a light, airy crust. Alongside the pizza, the menu runs to fresh pasta, Italian favourites, carefully selected wines and seasonal cocktails. The restaurant also has one of Spitalfields Market’s largest heated, covered terraces. Staying on for dinner after the workshop turns a craft session into a proper festive outing.

5. Five dates to choose from, and more workshops besides

There are five sessions between mid-November and mid-December, mostly on weekend afternoons, which makes it easy to gather friends or family. If wreaths are not your thing, ALFI runs a wider programme of creative experiences. These include pasta-making, Paint and Sip, cocktail-making and Sip and Bouquet, each at £48pp, plus scented candle-making at £55pp. Look out for the weekly offers too, including Spritz Tuesdays, Wine Wednesdays and Cocktail Fridays. It all adds up to one of East London’s most sociable spots this Christmas.
