5 Reasons to Skate at Glide, Battersea Power Station’s Riverside Ice Rink, This Winter

Christmas 2026 | 6 November 2026 – 3 January 2027

One month to go! Glide at Battersea Power Station, London’s only riverside ice rink, returns for its fifth season on 6 November, with tickets on sale now. Here are five reasons to lace up.

1. Skating with a spectacular view

The open-air rink sits beside the iconic Grade II* listed Power Station, with views across the Thames and the London skyline. It’s one of the most beautiful places to skate in the capital, especially after dark.

2. Three rinks and a skate trail

Glide has three interconnecting rinks plus a riverside skate trail, so there’s plenty of space for skaters of all abilities. There are calmer Accessible Skate Sessions with reduced music and lighting, and in November, weekday Extended Skate Sessions give you 3 hours 45 minutes on the ice instead of the usual 45 minutes.

3. KISS FM DJs at The Glass House

The Glass House bar, open to skaters and non-skaters, has a programme of live entertainment including KISS FM DJ sets. Warm up with Chocomel hot chocolate (with a free mug on Tuesdays), half-price chai lattes on Fridays, Made Of Dough pizza and a Maple Margarita.

4. Cosy private igloos

Book one of the Canada-themed private igloos by Air Canada for groups of 2 to 12. Groups of six or more get a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine, which makes it a great idea for a festive get-together.

5. Easy to reach and good value

Tickets start from £19.38 for adults and £11.97 for children aged 12 and under, and students get a free drink with their skate. Battersea Power Station has its own Northern line station and Uber Boat pier, and with 170 shops, bars and restaurants, you can easily make a day of it.
