Vermont singer-songwriter Greg Freeman has shared “Loser’s Prize”, the final single from his new album All Set the Bone, which is out this Friday on Transgressive and Canvasback. He’ll bring it to the UK in February 2027, including a London show at Scala.

1. One of the most anticipated albums of the autumn
All Set the Bone has been named one of the most anticipated albums of the season by both the New York Times and Pitchfork. The Times called it a thrilling step up from his previous record, while Stereogum predicted another lyrical, fuzzy masterpiece. It’s his third album, and it’s already being talked about as his best.

“Loser’s Prize” arrives with a mixed-media animated video directed by Wyatt Carson. On the song, Freeman writes about the fears that come with love, while his band builds dense structures and spacious improvisation around him. Watch it below:
3. Big changes behind the songs
Freeman calls the album a reflection of a lot of change and a lot of tension. While making it, he left his longtime home in Burlington, spent time in a remote part of the American Southwest, and became a full-time musician, leaving behind jobs as a cemetery landscaper and a restaurant line cook. The songs are full of unsettled characters, from a voter buried in credit card debt to a town of bent necks.
4. A sound fans of 90s indie rock will love
Produced by John Congleton, the album nods to early Pavement and Modest Mouse, with the heavier moments inspired by Fugazi and Unwound, and influences from Big Star and Mission of Burma too. Expect scorching guitars, cosmic percussion, baroque piano, brass and plenty of key changes across 13 tracks and 70 minutes. Pitchfork described it as the sound of Freeman aflame.
5. See him live at Scala
Freeman’s live shows have a reputation for raucous energy, and the new album is said to capture that better than ever. His UK tour visits Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow, Bristol and Brighton, with the London date at Scala in King’s Cross on Tuesday 16 February 2027.
