Brick Lane Jazz Festival has announced the first wave of artists for its sixth edition, taking place across Brick Lane and Shoreditch from 22 to 25 April 2027. Named the best London festival by The London Standard in 2024, it’s grown from four venues in 2022 to a 12-stage celebration of the UK’s most exciting music.
Here are five reasons to grab an early bird ticket.
1. Two brilliant headliners
Emma-Jean Thackray, the Mercury Prize-shortlisted experimental jazz star, and MRCY, the fast-rising duo named in DIY’s Class of 2025, top the bill. Between them they’ve worked with Little Simz, Liam Gallagher, Obongjayar, Joy Crookes and Olivia Dean.
2. A seriously eclectic line-up
This is far more than traditional jazz. The first wave spans grime, electronica, Arabic psych pop, Thai funk, Afrobeat, tropicália, neo-soul and house. Look out for Mercury-shortlisted rapper Novelist, MOBO-nominated MC Jayahadadream, flugelhorn star and Radiohead collaborator Yazz Ahmed with BODUR, Brooklyn duo Dana & Alden, and Sambroso All Stars presenting The Buena Vista.
3. Now four days long
For 2027 the festival adds a fourth day, with a Thursday at Village Underground. Every venue is a short walk from the central hub at the Truman Brewery, so it’s easy to hop between gigs.
4. Free music, too
Even without a ticket, you can enjoy free-entry spaces across the site, including The Brick Lane Tap Room, The Big Chill, 93 Feet East and Café 1001.
5. It sells out
The 2026 edition sold out, so it pays to book early. Early bird day passes start from just £19.50. The festival also supports new talent through partnerships with Jazz re:freshed and Tomorrow’s Warriors.
