Courchevel 1850 is getting a new luxury address this winter. Saint Roch, the latest hotel from French family-owned collection Maisons Pariente, will sit directly on the Bellecôte piste, combining serious skiing with striking interiors, a spa, family-friendly touches and just 37 rooms and suites.
Here are five things worth knowing before it opens.
1. You can ski almost straight from the door
Location is one of Saint Roch’s biggest attractions. The hotel sits directly on the Bellecôte slope, giving guests easy access to the vast 3 Vallées ski area.
There will also be an on-site ski shop, so equipment and fittings can be sorted without having to head into the village first. Courchevel’s shops, restaurants and village centre are only a short distance away.
2. It has just 37 rooms and suites
Saint Roch is deliberately small compared with many luxury ski hotels.
There are 37 rooms and suites, ranging from Superior rooms through to larger Prestige Suites. At the top of the hotel, two Prestige Suites and three adjoining rooms can be combined to create a Penthouse occupying the entire fifth floor – an appealing option for families or groups travelling together.
Expect rich colours, wood, velvet, silk and bespoke furniture rather than the more predictable pale-wood Alpine look.
3. The spa sounds almost as tempting as the skiing
There may be days when leaving the hotel becomes difficult.
Saint Roch’s spa takes inspiration from Ottoman hammams and Caucasian palaces, with marble, mosaics and vaulted details creating a suitably indulgent setting after a cold day on the mountain.
There will be an indoor swimming pool, fitness space and treatments using Tata Harper skincare.
4. Families haven’t been forgotten
Luxury Courchevel is not just for couples.
Saint Roch will have its own dedicated Kids Club, giving younger guests a space of their own while parents make use of the slopes, spa or bar.
The larger suites and Penthouse configuration also make the hotel particularly interesting for families wanting more space rather than booking several completely separate rooms.
5. There is plenty to do beyond skiing
You could quite happily spend the trip skiing, eating and sitting beside the fire with a hot chocolate, but Saint Roch’s concierge will also arrange experiences away from the pistes.
Options mentioned by the hotel include dog-sledding through the forest, snowmobiling, helicopter flights over the mountains and dinners high in the Alps.
And back at the hotel, there is a restaurant, cocktail bar and large living room designed as the social heart of the property.

For travellers looking for a small, design-led hotel with ski-in access rather than a huge Alpine resort, Saint Roch could become one of Courchevel 1850’s most interesting new places to stay.
It is the fifth hotel from Maisons Pariente, joining Le Coucou in Méribel, Lou Pinet in Saint-Tropez, Crillon le Brave in Provence and Le Grand Mazarin in Paris.
