Looking for something different to do near Liverpool Street? Five Iron Golf has opened its first UK venue at Broadgate, bringing together virtual golf, interactive sports, food, drinks and live entertainment. To celebrate its London arrival, the venue is also holding a special Grand VIP Opening Party in September.
1. Play virtual golf in the heart of London
Five Iron Golf London can be found at Broadgate Circle, 1 Finsbury Avenue, just a short walk from Liverpool Street Station.
The 6,900-square-foot venue combines indoor golf with a bar, restaurant and social gaming space, making it as much a night-out destination as somewhere to practise your golf swing.
It is the first Five Iron Golf venue in the UK, with plans for more locations around the country.
2. Take on hundreds of famous golf courses
The venue has eight Trackman golf simulator bays where players can virtually take on hundreds of golf courses from around the world.
Complimentary Callaway golf clubs are available, so you do not need to bring your own equipment.
Experienced golfers can use the technology for serious practice, while complete beginners can simply turn up and have a go.
3. Challenge your friends to much more than golf
Golf may be at the centre of Five Iron, but there are plenty of other games to try.
Visitors can play footgolf, zombie dodgeball, disc golf, hockey, bowling, basketball and clay pigeon shooting.
There are also football challenges including penalties, free kicks and target practice, making it a good choice for groups where not everyone is a golfer.
4. Make an evening of it with food, drinks and live sport
Five Iron Golf has been designed as a social venue rather than a traditional driving range.
There is a full-service bar and restaurant, alongside screens showing major sporting events including Premier League football and Formula 1.
You could visit for a round of virtual golf, stay for food and drinks and make a full evening of it in the City.
5. Look out for the Grand VIP Opening Party
Five Iron Golf is marking its London launch with a Grand VIP Opening Party on Wednesday 9 September from 5pm until 9pm.
The event will be hosted by comedians Tom Green and Tom Price from the Golf Is Ruining My Life podcast.
Guests will be able to try the golf simulators and multi-sport games, enjoy food and complimentary drinks and take part in competitions including a Closest to the Pin challenge.
The party will showcase what Five Iron Golf is aiming to bring to London: somewhere to play, compete, eat, drink and spend time with friends under one roof.
