Nigel Havers is heading to G Live Guildford on Monday 26 October 2026 with Talking Bllcks, his wonderfully unfiltered trip through more than five decades in showbusiness. Expect famous films, West End memories, Palladium pantos, backstage disasters and the sort of stories that probably improve considerably in the telling.

After enjoying his first tour, Havers is heading back out on the road with a very simple formula: Nigel Havers, a stage and a lifetime of stories. His own description promises the full Havers experience of charm and wit – but “absolutely no running in slow motion”.

2. Five decades of showbusiness gives him plenty to talk about
Havers has a rather substantial back catalogue to raid for stories. The evening goes from his early days as a drama-school hopeful through a career featuring Chariots of Fire, Empire of the Sun and Don’t Wait Up, alongside West End theatre and numerous appearances in Palladium pantomimes.
So this is not simply an evening for Chariots of Fire fans. It is a whistle-stop trip through several very different eras of British film, television and theatre.
3. The disasters could be more entertaining than the triumphs
One of the most appealing parts of Talking Bllcks is that it does not sound like a polished greatest-hits lecture. Havers promises behind-the-scenes gossip, triumphs, disasters and moments of sheer madness.
With a career stretching over 50 years, there should be rather a lot to choose from.
4. There are still a couple of surprises
Even if you think you know Nigel Havers rather well, the show has a few less predictable moments. His tour introduction teases a recreation or taste of his very first acting role, plus a demonstration of one of his off-stage talents – although he is deliberately keeping the details quiet.
That should help make the evening feel more like a proper live show than simply an actor sitting down and recounting his CV.
5. It looks like a very Havers sort of night out in Guildford
The official promise is an evening of laughter, nostalgia and charm. That probably sums it up better than anything else.
If you like theatrical anecdotes, old-school showbusiness, famous names and stories that occasionally wander somewhere they probably should not, Talking Bllcks could be one of the more entertaining nights at G Live this autumn.
