Looking for something a little different to do in Covent Garden this October? Lamplight Concerts is bringing live classical music, theatrical lighting and hundreds of glowing lamps to St Paul’s, the Actors’ Church, for just four evenings in October 2026. Here are five things to know before you book.
1. The Actors’ Church will be transformed into a world of light
This is more than a traditional classical concert. The 400-year-old church will become an immersive installation filled with colourful, one-of-a-kind lamps, pools of changing light and atmospheric lighting created by The Prop Making Company’s Neil Darcy and Offie-nominated lighting designer Peter Small.
Rather than simply watching a performance on a stage, the idea is that the audience sits inside the experience.
2. Duo Atlantis perform live in the heart of Covent Garden
The music comes from Duo Atlantis, mezzo-soprano Rachel Payne and pianist Jack Tyndale-Biscoe.
The pair formed in London in 2024 and have already performed at venues including Carnegie Hall in New York, Musikverein in Vienna, Salle Cortot in Paris and King’s Place in London.
Their programme explores art song and the themes of love and light, with Rachel’s voice and Jack’s piano at the centre of the evening.
3. It takes place in one of Covent Garden’s most atmospheric buildings
St Paul’s, the Actors’ Church has been part of Covent Garden since the 17th century and has strong connections with London’s theatrical history.
Memorials around the church remember famous performers including Charlie Chaplin, Noël Coward and Vivien Leigh, making it an especially fitting setting for a concert designed to combine music and theatre.

4. There are only four London performances
Lamplight Concerts takes place at 7pm on 2, 8, 14 and 22 October 2026.
The 14 October performance is a relaxed performance.
Each concert lasts approximately one hour with no interval, and seating is unreserved, so arriving early is recommended.
5. Tickets start from £10
Tickets cost £20 for general admission and £10 for concessions.
With only four Covent Garden dates announced, it could be a good choice for anyone searching for unusual London concerts, classical music events or atmospheric things to do in London this autumn.
