Disney’s High School Musical is returning to the UK stage in a major new production for 2026. After opening at Lowry in Salford, the musical transfers to Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre in London from 12 October 2026 to 3 January 2027.
1. High School Musical is back in London
This is the first UK non-replica production of Disney’s High School Musical. The show opens at Lowry in Salford on 22 August before arriving at Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre for an extended London run from 12 October 2026 until 3 January 2027.
2. Harry Judd will play Coach Bolton in London
McFly star Harry Judd takes on the role of Coach Bolton for the London performances. Jason Donovan plays Coach Bolton during the Salford run.
The cast also includes Tobias Turley as Troy Bolton, Leonor Correia as Gabriella Montez, Caitlin Tipping as Sharpay Evans and Luke Bayer as Ryan Evans.
3. A familiar High School Musical face is joining the cast
Disney fans may recognise KayCee Stroh, who played Martha Cox in the original High School Musical films. She returns to the world of East High in this stage production, this time playing drama teacher Ms Darbus.
4. The biggest High School Musical songs are included
Expect plenty of nostalgia. The stage musical features favourites including Breaking Free, We’re All In This Together, Get’cha Head in the Game and Stick to the Status Quo.
The production celebrates the 20th anniversary of the original Disney Channel film, which first appeared in 2006.
