Julie Yammanee on Magic Mike Live: 10 Questions Ahead of the Aylesbury Shows

Julie Yammanee joins Magic Mike Live as one of the MCs for its new international tour, launching at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre from 27–29 August 2026. We caught up with Julie to find out what audiences can expect.

1. What can audiences expect from your role as MC in Magic Mike Live?

I don’t want to give it all away! But they can expect an incredible show full of artistry, talent, humour and a real sense of girlhood. I basically get to experience it all alongside the audience and trust me, we are going on a journey together!

2. How does it feel to launch the new international tour in Aylesbury?

I honestly feel like the luckiest girl in the world. The new design, the scale of the space, the incredible creatives and cast, the costumes, it’s mind-blowing. There’s something really special about being the first audience to experience this brand-new version of the show, and I genuinely cannot wait for people to see what we’ve been creating.

3. What is different about this new version of the show?

It’s much bigger! The guys get to fully show off their superhuman skill sets across the stage, and all three tiers, and the use of the space is mind-blowing. There are more ridiculously talented men, new dances, new songs; they’ve taken an already incredible show and elevated it to the max. The number of times I find myself saying “wow, wow, WOW” is ridiculous. I’m genuinely in awe of them and a massive fan of the show myself.

4. How important is audience interaction to each performance?

Huge! The show is designed for everyone to have the best night of their lives. There’s no way you could see it and not feel completely immersed and involved; that connection with the audience is built into everything we do.

5. What has it been like working with such a large international cast?

Phenomenal. Everyone is ridiculously talented and experienced, and they all want to give their absolute best every single day. There isn’t one person who doesn’t want to be here, and I think you can really feel that. We’re all hugely proud of this fantastic new version of the show and so excited to share it. We’re also having an absolute blast together, which definitely helps!

6. How much of your role changes from night to night?

A lot! I have so much interaction with the audience, and every crowd has its own personality and energy, so no two shows are ever going to be exactly the same. I love that there’s an element of not quite knowing what’s going to happen each night, which is really thrilling.

7. What surprises first-time audiences most about the show?

That it’s probably not what they think it’s going to be. Magic Mike is obviously an iconic brand, but I think what people don’t expect is just how brilliant, classy and genuinely spectacular the live show is. It’s hilarious and sexy, of course, but it also has the energy of going to your favourite pop concert except it’s filled with ridiculously talented hot men! The creative team have worked with and choreographed artists like Madonna, Britney Spears and P!nk, so you’re getting genuine world-class choreography, creativity and performances. I think the sheer level of talent and artistry is what really surprises people.

8. Which part of Magic Mike Live do you enjoy most?

So many parts! I don’t want to give too much away, but I genuinely love watching all of the numbers. Asking me to choose a favourite is like asking someone to pick their favourite child; I just can’t do it!

9. Why do you think the show works so well for a night out?

Because the sense of girlhood is so strong. We’re all in it together, it’s SO much fun, and everyone gets something from the night that they can take away with them. It feels like one huge shared experience. And if you happen to get chosen for one of the many things that happen during the show… well, trust me, you’ll be talking about it for a very long time!

10. What are you most excited about as the international tour begins?

I’m so excited to take this unbelievable show to as many people as possible. On a personal level, getting to see the world, experience different cultures with my new friends, aka my castmates, and create some lifelong memories together. But mostly, I can’t wait to watch audiences around the world experience what we’ve created. We’re incredibly proud of it.
