Celebrate British Summertime with Monkey Island Estate’s New Shepherd’s Hideaway Experience #Travel #Bray #Luxury

One

This summer, Monkey Island Estate is delighted to welcome families and friends to enjoy the idyllic island in Bray with a new Shepherd’s Hideaway Experience. To kick-off British summertime, one of the estate’s handcrafted Shepherd’s Huts has been transformed from a cosy winter cabin into a rustic summer suntrap ready to welcome groups of up to six people. From belated birthdays to celebratory picnics with loved ones, the Summer Shepherd’s Hideaway Experience is the ideal way to reunite in style and after months of virtual celebrations, ease back into social gatherings.

Two

Nestled in the estate’s beautiful country gardens with stunning views over the River Thames, the Shepherd’s Hideaway is stylishly furnished with contemporary countryside interiors. Gourmet picnic hampers filled with local treats and chilled bottles of Harrow & Hope English Sparkling Wine welcome groups to the Shepherd’s Hideaway, where they can sit back and relax in the sun whilst being looked after by the welcoming team at Monkey Island Estate.

Guests can look forward to a delicious picnic menu, including coronation chicken curried drumsticks, poached salmon and potato salad, truffle sausage rolls and a selection of quintessentially British finger sandwiches.  Those with a sweet tooth can enjoy millionaire’s shortbread, carrot cake, macaroons and of course traditional scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream.

Three

After indulging in their picnic, guests can work off their lunch with a game of croquet on the lawn or get back to nature with a stroll around the estate’s seven-acre gardens. Keep an eye out for the Floating Spa Barge moored on the banks of the river, herb garden, four beehives and the estate’s resident hens, named after iconic female figures that have visited in years gone by. Guests will also be delighted to discover that the island’s second Shepherd’s Hut has also had a transformation over lockdown and now offers a pop-up bar, on hand for anyone needing to quench their thirst in the summer sun.

Four

As the sun starts to set, those who don’t want the fun to end can retreat to The Monkey Bar for a creative cocktail or dine on classic British fare at The Monkey Brasserie- the ideal way to end a summer’s day out with loved ones in the countryside.

The Summer Shepherd’s Hideaway Experience can be booked as an add on to an overnight stay at Monkey Island Estate and is also available to book for those not staying at the hotel. Just 40 minutes from London, there’s no better way to elevate your garden party game and enjoy a day in the British countryside with family and friends this summer.
