5 things to do today around London Bridge Station

The London Bridge area is right on the southern bank of the Thames, between London Bridge and Tower Bridge. Despite its ever-busy train station, it’s more than just a commuter hub; it encompasses Borough Market, City Hall, the HMS Belfast, and Potter’s Field, and the many nearby theatres and museums ensure there are always plenty of things to do.

In the impressive shadow of the Shard, local bars and pubs offer watering holes for locals, tourists and thirsty workers who stream out of the area’s offices every evening. For foodies, there are two exemplary food markets, while the best restaurants in London Bridge are often found tucked away from the busiest streets.

One

Tuck into a Rib Eye at Hawksmoor. You may even be tempted by the potted beef and yorkshires. This fine steak restaurant is directly opposite The Rake and serves the finest steak with the most excellent atmosphere anywhere in London. The creamed spinach is a particular highlight of ours. Three

If you are after something lighter then order the freshest fish you will find in London at Applebee’s Fish Restaurant. This fishmonger has an on-site cafe offering set lunches, fish wraps, daily specials & more. Address: 5 Stoney St, London SE1 9AA

Visit The Clink Museum. The Clink Prison dates back to 1144 making it one of England’s oldest and most notorious prisons. Positioned in the heart of modern-day Southwark and built on the original site, The Clink Prison Museum presents the scandalous truth of Old Bankside through a hands-on educational experience. Five

Have a candle lit glass of sweet Zibibbo at Bedales of Borough. This wine bar is amongst the stalls of Borough Market. This is the perfect place do unwind after food shopping. There is an indoor and outdoor seating area. The food menu looks interesting too. Address: 5 Bedale St, London SE1 9AL.
