Keep Things Spotless: 5 Simple House Cleaning Everyone Should Know About

Do you want to keep your home clean but can never have enough time or energy? Here are 5 simple house cleaning tips everyone should know about.

Are you struggling to keep your home neat and clean?

If so, you’re not alone. Many of us are busy during the week and don’t have the time or energy to clean up, so clutter accumulates quickly.

Cleaning is probably the last thing you want to do, but it doesn’t have to be such a big headache. There are small things you can do every day to prevent a big mess that you have deal with on the weekends.

Keep reading to learn some of our best house cleaning tips.

The Best House Cleaning Tips

Keeping a clean home doesn’t have to be a major chore. Here are five house cleaning tips that will make life a little easier:

1. Break Up Your Home

Even if you live in a small apartment, trying to clean your entire place at once will feel overwhelming. Break up your home into smaller sections so the cleaning is more manageable.

For example, Saturday can be your day to clean the kitchen and bathrooms, while Sundays can be for the living room, bedrooms or other areas. You could also divide the week by the type of chore. For example, tackle vacuuming on Mondays and washing windows on Tuesdays.

2. Clean Up After Yourself

When we’re busy during the week, it’s easy to let our small messes pile up into bigger ones. To make your life easier, try and make a conscious effort to clean up after yourself every day.

Don’t let shoes pile up by the door and clean your dishes as you use them. Put all dirty clothes in a hamper, instead of the floor. These things are all small, but they’ll make a big difference at the end of the week.

3. Make a Chore Chart

Chore charts aren’t just for children. Keeping a chore chart in your home is a great way to split up tasks between you and your partner, or simply hold yourself accountable to get things done.

Make a chart and assign you or someone in your home to do a new chore each day. Don’t forget to reward yourself at the end of the week for getting things done!

4. Make Cleaning Fun

Just because you have a chore chart doesn’t mean all of your cleaning has to feel like a chore.

Make cleaning fun and reward yourself a little by cleaning to your favorite TV show, podcast, audiobook or music. You’ll also feel more productive because you’re multi-tasking.

5. Buy in Bulk

One of the most annoying parts of cleaning is buying (and constantly running out of) cleaning supplies. Cleaning supplies can get expensive, but an easy way to save is to buy in bulk or buy commercial cleaning supplies.

If you constantly have cleaning supplies on hand, you’ll never have an excuse to not keep your home clean.
