Raise a glass and Celebrate London Wine Week at Andaz Liverpool Street

Andaz Liverpool Street is delighted to announce it is taking part in this year’s London Wine Week. With this year’s festival hub just around the corner at Devonshire Square, there really is no better place to be this London Wine Week than this luxury lifestyle hotel. As part of the festival, three of Andaz’s food and beverages venues, 1901 Restaurant & Bar, Eastway and Catch Champagne Bar & Lounge will be offering wine flights of 3 wines to London Wine Week wristband wearers for just £5.

With all the options on offer, wine enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice with the different drinking events hosted at the Andaz Hotel during the week.

1901 Restaurant & Wine Bar

1901 offers a fresh approach to fine-dining, set within what once was the magnificent Great Eastern’s Hotel ballroom making it an exquisite setting in which to try fine wines!

Monday 18th May – Saturday 23rd May

Throughout the week, 1901 will play host to a Franciacorta Pop Up Bar and this will be open from 12:00pm – 10:00pm. Guests will be introduced to the oh-so fashionable, boutique, premium sparkling wines of Franciacorta, an undiscovered region on the banks of Lake Iseo in Lombardy. The unique sparkling wines of Franciacorta are arresting yet elegant reflecting timeless and distinctive Italian style.

The bar will serve two separate flights of Franciacorta wines. One flight consists of a Brut, Satén and Zero Dosage and the second flight will consist of a Brut, Brut Millesimato and a Rosé. 1901’s amazing Head Chef is also creating a special bar snacks menu consisting of six snacks that will be paired with the flights.

Christopher Cooper is London’s freshest wine and drinks consultant. A well-respected individual in the industry, Christopher brings a quirky and witty approach to wine and he will be hosting the Franciacorta Masterclass & Wine Tasting. Having visited the regions of the Northern Italian lakes, Christopher has an extensive knowledge of the Franciacorta wines and will guide guests through the various six Franciacorta wines accompanied by a selection of tasty snacks. Just a warning, guests may leave with a new taste for sparkling wine!

Catch Champagne Bar & Lounge

This fun and vibrant bar is a blend of contemporary and authentic style, a cool place to relax and unwind or party the night away.

During London Wine Week, Catch is partnering with Barwell and Jones Wine Agency and Coe Vinters. Catch’s £5 London Wine Week’s flight is called One Grape Adventure – this consists of one grape variety (Sauvignon Blanc) from three different regions. Complex and sophisticated from New Zealand, refreshing and elegant from Chile, and classic and mineral from the Loire Valley, France.

Catch will also be creating an exclusive and unique London Wine Week Wine list going along the theme of tasting the same grape variety from various regions. There will be 12 wines available by the bottle and the glass.

David Allen – Master of Wine from Coe Vinters will host A Grape Adventure Masterclass & Wine Tasting. Guests will be able to explore and taste seven glasses of wine and six canapés and this will be held in the stunning original Masonic Temple tucked away in the 5-star hotel.

Eastway

Eastway is a laid back New York style brasserie and an ideal spot in which to chill out and enjoy some new wines.

Thursday 21st May – Saturday 23rd May

From Thursday through to Saturday, Eastway is partnering with Barwell and Jones Wine Agency and Coe Vinters. Eastway’s £5 London Wine Week flight is a Flight of Bodegas Fontana Spanish Wines.

Enjoy a crisp and mineral-tinged Verdejo, a balanced and elegant Rosé, and a vibrant juicy Tempranillo. Eastway’s Head Chef is also creating a Spanish inspired tapas styled London Wine Week bar snack menu to accompany the fruity flavours of these wines.

Barwell and Jones Wine Agency and Coe Vinters will also host a Pop-Up Retail Wine Shop on the Communal Table of Eastway. The retail wine shop will sell all 22 of the wines from Eastway, Catch Champagne Bar & Lounge as well as the wines from the masterclass A Grape Adventure. The wine shop will be open on Thursday and Friday from 6:00pm – 9:00pm.
