Try The New Grill at the Dorchester Hotel

The Grill at the Dorchester Hotel on London’s Park Lane has had a completely new look following an extensive reworking. The first thing that struck me was the background fragrance of quality cooking. It’s hard to describe but the combination of fresh table linen, fine wine wine and high end food has a smell all of its own. The ambience in the Grill at the Dorchester is sophisticated and very much luxury. You are taken on an epicurean journey from beginning to end by polite, knowledgable and professional waiters and staff. The kitchen is laden with suspended copper pans and is smartly placed at the back of the restaurant for diners to look in. On the left there is a long bar with a few bar stools to make you feel like a film star. The food is superb with sides such as bone marrow resting next to the beef which is certainly not your usual find. The bread was plentiful and delightful with different choices available. Desserts such as bread and butter pudding are classic but served with a twist. Dried fruits are served on the side to add to the pudding to your liking. All in all the new grill at The Dorchester was excellent. Choose a quiet time such as a Sunday evening to dine.
